This Simple Photo “Rule” Can Save You Time!
And help you get needed Resources for your Business. (without spending money on a designer)
The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts.
Some people say that when the subject is in the middle of the image there’s nowhere for the viewers eyes to go once they see it.
But when the subject is towards an edge – the viewer’s eye seems to linger longer on the image – it can feel more interactive, like a shared experience that creates connection. And connection is great for converting a viewer into a fan.
So how can this help your business?
Simply by thinking about your social media posts, opt-in pages, banners, and business needs whenever you’re taking photos.
And of course, all rules are made to be broken – so it needs to feel good for you!
(BTW when there are multiple people in the photo the ‘story’ is usually told by their connection with each other so I don’t follow the “rule”. Except in business when we need space to the side for marketing purposes. )
